This will be another fun and interesting event of music and conversation between the audience, myself and the three organizers of the evening. DJ Shimada Naoko ( Flavor.FM), journalist Yoshioka Masaharu (www.soulsearchin.com/) and commentator Uchida Eiichi came to me with the idea of a combination live show/discussion forum based on the music of Donnie Hathaway. Between 19:30 and 22:00, I will perform four 15 minute stages followed by discussion. What makes this so special is that the audience can participate in the show. The MC for the evening is DJ Shimada Naoko and the guest commentator is Yoshioka Masaharu. Come be a part of the evening with us.

My Appearance In The Yebisu Beer CM
You can see me in the latest CM for Yebisu Beer. I'll be on the deck of a cruise ship in a tuxedo singing with a quartet. I'll be either singing, playing piano or just standing around. I'll know when everyone else does but no matter what, I'm very happy to be in it. Also, listen for me on the latest commercials for Pizza Hut (yelling, "Cheese O" over my vocal tracks), Gatorade sports drink (John Lennon's "Power To The People", plus over dubs), Ozack potato chips (yelling in japanese again), Tu-Ka mobile phones ("Stand By Me") and Vaio Computers ("Could It Be I'm Falling In Love"). Whether I'm singing, yelling or just talking, it's really just voice acting. And a lot of fun!

PlayStation 2
ALL STAR PRO-WRESTLING 3

In response to the demands to hear more rap from me, here's what you've all  been waiting for. Released just this month, you can hear me perform "Funky Headhunter" on the new PlayStation 2 wrestling game software. The original was recorded by Hammer and yes, I do a slammin' job on it. If you like fighting softwares, you'll love this one. It's based on the Japanese wrestling foundation called as NOAH. My song is the theme for the wrestler known as Scorpio. When he's battling in a match, it's my rap performance you're listening to. So please enjoy it while you're beating the hell out of somebody!

KALEB JAMES And DICKEY FUKUDA
Piano/Vocals and Guitar

Place: Sun Garden Restaurant (aka Sunlife Garden Hotel)
Dates: Tuesdays in April 13th, 20th and 27th
Address: 9-41 Enokicho Hiratsuka, Kanagawa
Tel: 0463-21-7111
Music Charge: 800 yen
Live music from 7:30-9:30 pm

This is one of the lovliest secrets outside of Tokyo. Sun Garden is a great restaurant in the same building as the amazing (and authentic) Scotland Chapel. 'Authentic' as in, it really is a scottish chapel. It was de-constructed in Scotland and flown over to Japan brick by brick where it was re-constructed in Hiratsuka. It's an amazing sight standing 50 feet from the banks of the Banyu River. My duo partner is Dickey Fukuda, guitarist and leader of the band FUSE. If you're ever in the Shonan beach area, this is a wonderful way to finish the day. Fine cuisine and mellow music by candlelight. For those of you taking the train, just get to Hiratsuka station on the JR Tokaido line. Sunlife Garden Hotel is 3 minutes by taxi. If you're driving, give them a call to fax a map with more information.

BOB SAPP'S New Music Video, "Sapp Time"
Artist: BOB SAPP, Pro Wrestling Champ
Debut Date: March 5th

I recently filmed a music video for wrestling champion BOB SAPP's new song entitled, "Sapp Time". It's a kind've rap tune with lead vocals in japanese and Bob doing the rap. It's just the kind of thing Bob Sapp fans are gonna love because you get to see him dance! He's got a lot of groove. Coming from the NFL, he moves very well for a man his size. Many people don't know this but professional football players are usually very limber. As a matter of fact, many of them take dance lessons to be able to move better on the field. Bob is no different. You might be surprised! I had a great time and as it turned out, I knew all the other musicians in the band. There was Lorenzo Braceful on drums, Lenzie Crosby on bass (FUSE), Zaindre Yarbrough on guitar, Kelvin Davis on sax and Derek Short on trumpet. (Derek is really a bassist and saxophonist but this was just acting so it was cool). Here in Japan, most people call me big because I'm six feet, three inches tall and weigh 250 pounds. Standing next to Bob Sapp made me look regular-sized. As you can see in the photo of us standing together, he's simply a huge man.Video shoots are usually really long and not very exciting because they take all day but this one was alright. One reason it went so smooth was because of Bob Sapp himself. He was real cool to work with and didn't mind talking with everyone between the breaks. He also has a great sense of humor so we were all laughing a lot during the entire shoot. And there was so much to joke about, too. Like the lighted stairway they built for the shoot. You can't tell from watching the video but it was kind've difficult to walk on. The steps were smaller than they should be and those light bulbs were sticking out too far. If you didn't step very carefully almost to the edge of each step, you would definitely step on some bulbs. Me, Bob Sapp, Lorenzo and the rest of the staff had to go up and down those steps all day long. At the end of the day, there were about forty bulbs that had been changed. It really slowed things down but it couldn't be helped. When you see Bob coming down those stairs so quickly in the beginning of the video, it doesn't seem so hard, but it was. As I said, he moves very well. Other than that, things went okay. We shot the entire song from a lot of angles over and over again. One thing I learned a long time ago from doing video and television shoots is that you've got to do your best performance for the camera each and every take. You never know which of your shots will be in the video after it's edited. It's always a surprise to see what they used. For instance, they took a lot of shots of just me and Lorenzo up there playing the entire song alone. On the finished video, they didn't use any of it. But you can see me every now and then so make sure to catch the video when you get the chance.

See me and Bob together pictures page.
